Overactive sweat glands are one of the major causes of hyperhidrosis. This disease can show its symptoms on any part of the body; this may include both, feet, armpits, hands and even the face. The hands and the face are the common areas affected by excessive sweating disorders. There are many known causes of excessive sweating, these may include; fevers, mood swings, diet and state of ones mind. Most of these only cause temporary excessive sweating and may disappear if controlled. If these sweating problems persist for a long time you will begin to have overactive sweat glands in your body. This condition forms gradually and may reach to a point were your glands can no longer stop sweating under warm but not hot conditions. This condition also affects the social life of sufferers, as most people with this condition tend to isolate themselves. This may lead to stress and depression which in turn worsen the condition.

Recent research work by American health expects has shown that heredity is the major cause of overactive sweat glands. Most of the incidences of people who showed symptoms of overactive sweat glands were closely linked to other family members. This disease would have been passed on from generation to generation in the same family tree. Although most of the cases of overactive glands being linked to genetics, there are also some cases of self inflicted over sweating conditions. People who consume fatty products and sugary foods will in time suffer from excessive sweating glands. The consumption of certain drugs can lead to the damage of the nervous system which controls the activity of sweat glands. Drug abusers have higher risks of developing this condition, as most of these drugs inhibit the normal function of the sweat glands. Age is also important when it come to hyperhidrosis. Women at the stage of menopause suffer from hyperhidrosis as their sweat glands become overactive. Hypoglycemia and some heart conditions also lead to overactive sweat glands.

The cure for overactive sweat glands is available, but there has not yet been one cure that completely treats this disorder. Most of these cures only control the condition but do not stop get reed of the disorders completely. The treatments available include; thoracic surgery treatments, iontophoresis (the use of electric impulses), drysol and Botox treatment. Over active sweat glands may also lead to low levels of the hormone estrogen in women, and also affects the immunity balance in the body.

Sweating is a common problem associated with people of all walks of life. Normal sweating is the body’s natural response to high internal body temperatures. Sweating occurs when the body is transferring excess internal heat to the outside environment. Sweating may occur when undertaking a strenuous exercise or when working under the hot sun. It may be caused by our feeding habits and state of our minds. The excess fat under the skin of obese patients leads to high internal heat of the body. This will in turn trigger a response of the nervous system causing the sweat ducts to open. Sweat is passed out of these sweat ducts every moment and may lead to hyperactivity of sweat glands. Relaxing is also useful in getting reed of sweating disorders and problems associated with sweating. Medication has proved to provide the necessary treatment or solution to excessive sweating problems. These medicines and procedures that are commonly used to stop excessive sweating include; iontophoresis, Botox cosmetic and drysol. The medicines can be used to effectively stop sweating disorders but however recent research work has shown that some of these medicines have side effects. The use of Botox to stop excessive sweating has become popular, as it provides an effective remedy to excessive sweating. Botox is injected into the skin of the patient and it immediately inhibits the function of the nerves that stimulate sweat glands. This treatment method is very painful and this is the main reason why it is not all that popular. Botox has proven to be one of the best medicines when it comes to stopping Excessive sweating.

The sweat glands and the nervous system work closely together to control the rate of sweating in our body. The condition of excessive sweating is termed; hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is a condition when the nervous system and sweat glands begin to malfunction and you begin to sweat a lot. Excessive sweating disorders may either be self inflicted or genetic disease. Diseases like obesity, stress and anxiety can lead to sweating disorders. There are different known conditions of excessive sweating, these are; Palmar (excessive sweating of the palms), Axillary (sweating under the armpits) and facial excessive sweating.

There are surgical procedures that are often used to treat excessive sweating. This surgical procedure alters the nervous and sympathetic system thus reducing the incidences of excessive sweating. This process is commonly termed, “the ETC procedure”. This procedure is very effective and can only take up to an average of thirty minutes to complete. Although this procedure is effective it surely comes at an expensive cost. Very few people may be able to afford this treatment. Excessive sweating may cause a huge negative impact to one’s social lifestyle .this intern will amount to stress which in turn worsens the sweating problem. This surgical procedure will certainly be the answer and solution to all your problems.

There is also another treatment that you can undergo when excessive sweating of the armpits begins, which involves the use of medicines. Medication has proved to provide the necessary treatment or solution to excessive sweating problems. Some of the medicines commonly used to treat excessive sweating include; iontophoresis, Botox cosmetic and drysol. Although these medicines can effectively treat sweating disorders, recent research work has shown that some of these medicines have side effects. For example; drysol has become very unpopular because of the side effects it causes.

Another method of treating excessive sweating may be Iontophoresis. This is a weekly based treatment that is done at some hospitals in America and Europe. This treatment involves the use of electrical currents. Electrical currents are passed through the infected area; this inhibits the sweat glands from producing sweat. This treatment is temporary thus you will have to continue visiting the hospital for more treatment. Although being temporary, this procedure has proved to be effective when treating sweating disorders.
